How we work with small or start up businesses
Over the years, we have developed a strategy for keeping your accountancy fees as low as possible, whilst still delivering the quality of service and tax expertise you expect from your accountant.
If you are happy using a computer to record your income and expenses, we can recommend using VT Transaction Plus which is a book keeping software package that feeds directly into our accounts and tax software programs. This system saves us having to re-key in that data you have already entered. You don't even need to understand book keeping or accounts to use this system.
With a little guidance from us, you will soon be racing through the data entry and will be amazed at how easy it is to use. We usually review the data you send us, make any adjustments necessary and use your work as a basis for our own. We also teach you how best to keep your paperwork to enable us to review more quickly. Ultimately, the more work you can do in the way we need it to be done, the easier it is to keep costs down for you.
On the other hand, if you are really a pen and paper person, we can help develop the best way for you to keep your books to keep the process as simple as possible.
If, like many people, you hate "doing the books" or you really do not have the time to maintain a book keeping package on the computer, we can keep the records up to date for you on a weekly, or monthly basis. And for those who do not have such a great volume of transactions, we can manage it on a quarterly basis.

If you have been in business for a while, and looking for a fresh approach to accounts and tax, we have the ability to work with a variety of popular software packages and tailor our service to the needs of your business and book keeping requirements. As well as our recommended VT Transaction Plus, we can work with Sage, Quick Books, TAS, Iris Book keeping and any cash book software that you prefer to use.
If you need monthly management accounts, variance reporting, advice on capital expenditure, forecasts for raising finance, tax planning, we can provide these value added services. We can also advise and educate your own internal accounts team to enable them to deliver the information in the way it is needed.
